Dennis Murray Garrett, son of Charles Murray Garrett and the late Amber Garrett Collins, died at the age of 64 at his home in Palm Springs, CA. Born in Travelers Rest, SC, he graduated from Parker High School and The Citadel with a Masters Degree from The University of South Carolina. After college, Dennis served in the US Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. He retired from Tiffany and Company in Palm Springs, CA. Surviving are his father and step-mother, Betty Manley-Garrett and sisters Donna Garrett Blakeney and Katie Garrett Ward and a brother, Robert David Garrett. He was predeceased by a sister, Melissa Garrett Langley. The family members are at their homes. A memorial service was held at Bethel Baptist Church at 403 Sulphur Springs Rd., Greenville, SC on Wednesday, May 9th at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Lee officiating. Visitation immediately followed the service.

EDITORS NOTE:While at The Citadel, Dennis was a proud member of Band Company. He majored in History. Dennis was a Corporal, and a Sergeant. He was in the Chapel Choir, the History Club, and earned Dean's List and Gold Stars his Junior and Senior years.
