While a cadet at The Citadel, David Zack Freeman was a member of Hotel Company of the Second Battalion. His academic major was Education. He held cadet rank of Corporal, Sergeant and Second Lieutenant. He was a member of the Student Education Association, The Association of the U. S. Army (AUSA), and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He was named to the Dean's List for academic excellence. He attended The Citadel from Marion, S.C. He was a Distinguished Military Graduate (DMS) and held a U.S. Army contract. He receiv An active-duty Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, he died of an illness July 6, 1989.
