From J.B. Tallent Funeral Service & Crematory Pat Patterson died Sunday, July 9, 2023, surrounded by close family at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with a reception to follow. Pat will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity and genuine love of people. He was born to Geraldine (Gerry) Eaddy Patterson and Joseph (Joe) Crider Patterson II in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on April 28, 1948, but he spent most of his childhood in Columbia, South Carolina. Pat graduated from The Citadel in 1970 before joining the Army, serving in Germany, Colorado and West Point, and rising to the rank of Major. In 1983 he moved to Charlotte, where he later founded Carolina Association Management and met his wife of37 years, Flora Beth. His greatest joy was his daughter, Courtney, and he loved being PapaPat to his granddaughters, Eleanor and Amelia, who loved him dearly. Pat is survived by his wife, Flora Beth Patterson; daughter and son-in-law Courtney and Corey Inscoe; granddaughters Eleanor and Amelia Inscoe; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Hal Von Nessen; and nephew Joey Von Nessen and his wife Erica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Baptist Church.
