45th Reunion, November 5-8, 2015

Our 45th reunion was another huge success. I do not quite know why but our class seems to be a much tighter knit group than other classes. That is what makes our reunions special. We all owe a debt of gratitude to our hard working Committee. They are: Scott Tucker, Michael Schwartz, John Moore, Kevin Campbell, Stan Townsend, Glen Avinger, Coty Cuttino, Jim Pinson, Hoot Gibson, Tom Doyle and John Peebles. Thank you, guys, for a job well done....

For those of you who could not make it this year, the weekend began Thursday at Noon with Registration in the Hospitality Room of the Springhill Suites. Kevin Campbell and Stan Townsend had a full-up bar and snacks available. Thursday night we met at Tom Doyle's Palmetto Carriage Barn for a full blown BBQ feast overseen by Glen Avinger...with a full bar. Friday began with Registration again and the Class Golf Classic, honchoed by Coty Cuttino at The Country Club of Charleston. Glen brought lunch to the Hospitality Room. Several folks went to the Twilight Parade at 1710 hours. The Friday Night Gala was held at the Alumni Center and featured four terrific food stations...and two open bars....and an ice Bulldog just made for "sliders". "Still Cruzin'" provided great dance music. Saturday was a "wander the campus" and see the changes followed by the Review Parade. We got to watch our own Scott Tucker troop the line with the Regimental Commander and Lt. Gen. John Rosa. Part of the class even marched at the end of the Corps to "Pass in Review". Then it was off to the top of the stadium where we had our buffet and bar set up for the game. About 1300 hours, we went down to the field to march in with the Corps for the pre-game show. A great game it was as we defeated VMI. Good food and great adult beverages. That's hard to beat. After the game, we returned to the Hospitality Room and the big TV in the lobby to continue the fun. Glen brought dinner for us all. Sunday morning we gathered at the Alumni Center for a Remembrance Cerimoney. Scott read the names of all our classmates who have passed. We had one more chance to see our friends and say goodbye.

Our next Reunion will be our 50th. We will be in "The Gold Corps". One special feature will be that we and our wives will have a specially designated seating area for the Review Parade on Saturday. I hope you all can attend. In the interim...take care and God Bless...
