Frederick George Boynton died on November 9, 2018. He was born in Yokohama, Japan while his father was in the Army. Fred graduated from The Citadel in 1970 and from Tulane University Law School in 1973. He served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He became a partner with Smith, Gambrell and Russell and then later with Morris, Hardwick, Schneider. Later he was a solo practitioner before his retirement. He was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was active in the church where he taught 4th grade Sunday School for many years. He is survived by his daughters, Emily Margaret Boynton of New York City, Charlotte Clayton Boynton of Atlanta and Susan Jeanne Boynton of Atlanta and his sister Jeanne Boynton.

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 850 Mt. Vernon Highway NW Atlanta, GA 30327 on Thursday November 15, 2018 at 10:30 am with visitation to be held at 9:45 am. Burial will follow at Georgia National Cemertery 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive Canton, GA 30114. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Mr. Boynton will be buried at Georgia National Cemetery Friday, November 16, 2018, 11:00 AM.

Editor's Note: Fred was a proud member of "G" Company: a Corporal, a Sargeant and a Senior Private. He was a Political Science Major and Army contract....on the Sphinx staff, Denominational Group, Pi Sigma Alpha, Dean's List (4,3,2,1), Gold Stars (3,2,1), Assn of the U.S. Army, Society of American Military Engineers, Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Political Science Club.
